What is Mirror?
Mirror is a new form of web interaction. Mirror allows you to connect with others based on the qualities you value, for dating, social or professional purposes.
Facebook does a great job of connecting you with people you already know; you can chat with friends, share photos with family, etc. However, it does a very poor job of connecting you with people who you don’t know, but possess the qualities and interests that are important to you. For instance, let’s say you are single and want to find all of the guys in your area who are attractive, intelligent and loyal, not as told by them in an anonymous profile like you’d get on some online dating site, but by the people in their life who know them best. Or you are looking for a responsible roommate, a funny, motivated work-out partner, or a talented and respectful photographer, Mirror allows you to search by the qualities that interest you most and connect with the individual via SMS or email (secure and anonymous of course) in a verified manner. There are no anonymous or fake profiles since every user is not only verified by SMS and email, but also has their interests and personality brought to life by those who know them best; their friends, co-workers, family, etc.
What are the benefits of Mirror?
There are numerous benefits to Mirror over the current social networks and online dating sites. Here are a few:
1) Mirror allows you to connect with people based on the qualities you value. Imagine being able to search for and connect with people who possess qualities and interests that are important to you; attractive, intelligent singles, good kissers, talented bartenders, responsible roommates, etc. Everyone on Mirror is verified and real; no pseudonyms, anonymous or fake profiles. Using Mirror’s anonymous SMS and email technology, you can connect with others in a fast and secure manner.
2) Build your online reputation using Mirror. Mirror allows you to frame yourself, who you are, not as told by you via a one-dimensional profile, but by the people in your life who know you best. Mirror allows you present the real you, through a mosaic of experiences shared by the people in your life. Have your friends, family and co-workers highlight your best traits and unique qualities on Mirror.
3) Mirror is free! No credits to purchase, monthly subscriptions or upselling.
How does Mirror work?
Mirror enables you to start connecting with others in three easy steps:
Step 1 - Create a frame for yourself. A frame is a fun, short profile of who you are and what you’re looking for. It takes approximately three to five minutes to complete. It includes your real name, photos, verified phone number and email, as well as some of your interests and personality traits. You can select what you want to be connected for and how you want to be connected (SMS or email, real-time or aggregated format).
Step 2 - After creating a frame, you invite your friends via Facebook or email to give their take on you. A take is short snapshot of their relationship with you. It includes special moments from the relationship, some fun adlibs about you and is designed to bring out your unique personality. As we like to say around the Mirror offices, Facebook is “what I like”, Mirror is “what I’m like.”
Step 3 - Once you have an approved frame and 2 takes, you can then browse for and start connecting with others on Mirror. Connections are fast, secure and, best of all, free!
What is a frame?
A frame is a short profile that a user creates for her or himself on Mirror. It takes approximately three to five minutes to complete and gives users the opportunity to verify themselves, upload their photos and highlight their qualities and interests. Most importantly, the Mirror frame serves as the basis for those closest to the user, friends and family, to share experiences with and give their take on the user. Using Mirror, you are simply providing the frame or contour of who you are, and letting those who know you best fill in the details.

What is a take?
A take is a short snapshot written about you by the people in your life who know you best. You invite your friends, family, or co-workers to give their take on you. They highlight your unique qualities and skills as well as the special moments in your relationship. Takes help you build up your online reputation and make connecting with others easier.
Once a user has created their frame, they can invite friends via Facebook or email to give their take on them.
Are the connections anonymous?
Yes. Mirror technology allows the SMS and email messages send by our users to remain anonymous for a preset amount of time.
SMS: All SMS messages sent through the Mirror network will remain anonymous for 48 hours after the user responds to the first incoming message. After 48 hours, the users will be prompted to exchange their real numbers if they want to continue chatting.
Email: All email messages remain anonymous until the user responds to the first incoming message.
How does the approval process work?
To ensure that the Mirror community remains free of any fake users, spam and inappropriate content, Mirror administrators approve all frames and takes. The approval process may take 10 minutes or 12 hours. Without giving away our secret recipe, we use a combination of computer algorithms and human editors to ensure that the content users submit is accurate and appropriate.
